Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has announced the devastating loss of her grandfather.

The professional dancer shared the tragic news on social media yesterday (5 July), with a heartfelt tribute to her beloved ‘Pop’.

“Rest in peace pop  you were 99 years young  thank you for all the stories and I just know you will be up there dancing with Nan already ” she captioned the Instagram post.

Dianne also shared a video compilation of her surprising her grandfather in Australia. In the clip, the pair celebrated her recent victory, after she won the latest series of Strictly with Chris McCausland.

“I’m a Strictly champion, Pop,” she laughed as they danced together.

In another clip, filmed by Dianne’s boyfriend Joe Sugg, she and her grandfather were seen joking around as they embraced for a phot0.

The star received lots of love and support in the comment section, including condolence messages from fellow Strictly professionals Nancy Xu, Michelle Tsiakkas, Jowita Przystał, Johannes Radebe and Vito Coppola.

“D D  Sending you all the love,” wrote Nancy, while Michelle added: “I’m so sorry for your loss Di Sending you and your family all my love”

The sad news comes after the heartbreaking d𝐀ath of Dianne’s grandmother earlier this year. Back in March, Dianne took to Instagram to share a beautiful tribute to her beloved Nan.

“Rest in peace nan. Love you very much,” she captioned the emotional video montage. “I’m so grateful I was home to say goodbye to such a special lady in my life, now go be with pop he has been patiently waiting for you.”
