“Almost unrecognisable”: Danniella Westbrook has stunned the public after appearing with a look that is almost impossible to recognise following yet another major facial reconstructive surgery
Danniella Westbrook has been pictured looking almost unrecognisable after undergoing yet another round of extensive facial reconstructive surgery in Dubai.
The former EastEnders star, 52, is continuing a long and deeply personal journey to rebuild her face following years of damage caused by past drug addiction. Her latest operation comes just eight months after a complex nose reconstruction last summer.
Danniella was photographed at Gargash Hospital, where she underwent a full face, neck and brow lift, alongside further lip and nose reconstruction. Images showed the actress wearing a hospital gown ahead of the lengthy procedure before later being discharged in a wheelchair.
Leaving the hospital in a pink dress, Danniella’s face appeared visibly swollen and tightly wrapped in a compression garment — a stark reminder of the scale of the surgery. A full recovery from a face, neck and chin lift can take up to nine months.
The surgery was carried out by her long-term surgeon Dr Parviz Sadigh, who has previously operated on the star. Last month, Danniella publicly praised him on Instagram, writing that she had “a massive amount of love and respect” for her surgeon and was already counting down to February for the next operation, adding: “Every day I grow and glow.”
Danniella first found fame aged just 14 after landing the role of Sam Mitchell in EastEnders, but her success was overshadowed by years of addiction throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. She has previously admitted spending £250,000 on cocaine and revealed she was taking up to five grams a day — even while pregnant with her son, Kai.
The damage from her addiction caused her nose and cheekbones to collapse entirely, with her nasal septum falling out. Last year, she underwent major surgery to reconstruct her nose using cartilage taken from her rib.
At the time, Danniella said she hoped rebuilding her face would allow her to relaunch her acting career. On the day of that operation, she told fans she was heading into “a very long surgery” to rebuild her face so she could “get back to work”.
In September, she proudly revealed the results of her healed nose and appeared overjoyed with her new look — but her latest appearance shows just how physically demanding the road to recovery still is.
