A candle lit softly.
An ultrasound photo carefully framed.
And 17 years of love that never faded.
Kym Marsh has shared a deeply emotional tribute to her son Archie, who was stillborn at 21 weeks in February 2009, marking what would have been his 17th birthday.
“17 years without you. 17 years of missing you. 17 years of pain that never subsides. My son. My beautiful boy.”
Her words were simple — but devastating.

A Birthday That Still Hurts
Archie was born prematurely during Kym’s marriage to Jamie Lomas, leaving the family heartbroken.
Now 17 years on, Kym says she still finds herself wondering who he would have been.
“I wonder what you would have been doing on this birthday and how we would be celebrating? I wish we could.”
She described him as “the missing piece of my heart” — a line that resonated deeply with followers who flooded the comments with support.
Among them was Myleene Klass, who has also spoken openly about pregnancy loss, sending love with a crying emoji and heart.
Helen Flanagan and Lisa Faulkner also offered heartfelt messages.
“Forever Our Angel”
Kym shared that she finds comfort believing Archie is now with her father, who passed away last year after battling cancer.
“I know grandad moustache will be with you. Give him a big kiss and cuddle for us.”
Even after nearly two decades, she admits the pain has never truly gone away.
Breaking The Silence Around Baby Loss
Over the years, Kym has spoken candidly about the stigma surrounding stillbirth and pregnancy loss.
She once admitted she initially avoided talking about Archie because it made the loss feel “real.” But opening up ultimately helped her heal — and brought her family closer.
“There’s still a huge taboo. It makes people uncomfortable. It can be very lonely.”
Today, Archie is very much part of their family’s story.
Her daughter Polly speaks about her “big brother.”
Her grandchildren know his name.
And every milestone includes remembering him.
“He’s part of our lives. Through all the special moments, we celebrate him.”
