Danniella Westbrook put on a brave face — quite literally — as she stepped out in a baby pink bikini while recovering from her latest round of intense reconstructive surgery in Dubai.
The former EastEnders star, 52, was spotted trying to soak up the sunshine by the pool at her hotel, carefully lowering herself onto a lounger before taking a brief dip to cool off. Still wrapped in protective bandages around her head, and visibly bruised and swollen from surgery, Danniella’s recovery remains very much in progress.

The gruelling procedures — which included a full face, neck and brow lift, alongside lip and nose reconstruction — mark yet another chapter in her long and painful battle to rebuild her face after years of cocaine addiction destroyed her septum. Just months earlier, she had undergone further nasal repair surgery following the devastating damage caused to her cartilage.
Last month, she publicly praised her surgeon, writing: “A massive amount of love and respect to my amazing surgeon @parvizsadigh for all his hard work. Every day I grow and glow. Thank you and roll on Feb for the next operation.”

In new photographs, the Sam Mitchell actress appeared determined to relax despite the discomfort. Her eyes looked puffy and bruised, and swelling remained around her cheeks, but she appeared focused on regaining strength after the invasive procedures.
Danniella has previously spoken candidly about how close she came to losing her life after a botched operation. She revealed she suffered severe osteoporosis in 2015, which weakened her bones so drastically that her cheekbones “wasted away”, leaving her reliant on screws for teeth.

In a past interview, she explained the horrifying extent of the damage: “They need to take a piece of bone out of my skull and put a plate into my face but they’ve got nothing to stick the plate on at the minute because the bone’s not strong enough. The bone hadn’t closed around the screws so they took me out of the house three times to a dentist, which they’re not meant to, because the pain was so bad.”

Her facial reconstruction journey has been long and emotionally exhausting. At one point, she admitted the cruel online abuse nearly broke her. “I hate the way I look. I’m constantly made fun of, and trolled for it. People message me, saying: ‘You’re so ugly, you’re a junkie, you should just go and kill yourself.’ I’ve also had messages saying they are glad I’m not coming back to EastEnders because no one wants me scaring their kids on the telly,” she shared.

Despite setbacks — including a post-surgery infection — Danniella recently revealed doctors have cleared her to move to the next stage of recovery. In 2025, she wrote: “Today, I got the amazing news that I’m officially clear to move on to stage 2 of my recovery. Despite a rough patch with an infection (which was a known risk), my doctors are happy with how everything’s going – and that means everything to me.”
For Danniella, this isn’t just cosmetic — it’s survival, resilience, and an attempt to reclaim both her health and her confidence after years of public scrutiny and private pain.
