Amy Childs, former TOWIE star, has opened up about a devastating health crisis in her family, revealing that her cousin’s five-month-old daughter, Lila, has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour. In an emotional post to her Instagram followers, Amy urged fans to support a fundraiser set up for little Lila, who is fighting a battle no child should have to face.
A Fight for Life
Lila was diagnosed with AT/RT, a fast-growing tumour that primarily affects young children, when she was just three weeks old. Despite undergoing a nine-hour brain surgery and starting chemotherapy at only five weeks old, the tumour has tragically returned.
Amy, a mother of four herself, shared a screenshot of her cousin Hannah Brincat’s JustGiving page, asking for donations and support. “Please, if you can, help support my cousin’s beautiful daughter Lila,” she wrote. “She’s fighting so hard, and every donation makes a difference.”
A Brave Little Girl
Her mother, Hannah, has described Lila as a “brave girl,” enduring more in her short life than most adults could imagine. Despite six rounds of chemotherapy, the family was told that there were no further treatment options available, leaving them devastated.
Hannah revealed that they’ve spent months in hospital, separated from their other children, before moving into a children’s hospice. “Our lives have been turned upside down. We are devastated,” she wrote, as she continues to fight for her daughter’s life.
Desperate for Hope
In a final desperate attempt, the family has reached out to a specialist oncologist in Toronto, who is researching this rare tumour. However, the family does not yet know whether any additional treatment is possible or what it might cost.
“Time is not on our side,” Hannah added, as she continues to battle for her daughter’s future. The fundraiser has been set up to cover potential medical costs for any new treatments that may arise.
How You Can Help
Amy Childs is calling on fans to help in any way they can, whether through donations or simply sharing the fundraiser. If the funds are not needed for treatment, the donations will go to charities that have supported the family during this incredibly difficult time.
Lila’s fight is just beginning, and Amy’s plea is a reminder that sometimes the smallest voices need the biggest support. Please consider helping if you can.
Stay tuned for more updates on Lila’s journey, and let’s rally behind her in this time of need.
