Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart gave some New York City residents quite the surprise.
The longtime couple were spotted riding the subway in the Big Apple alongside regular commuters on Monday, March 31, as seen in photos obtained by PEOPLE.
Ford, 82, and Flockhart — who is starring in the play Curse of the Starving Class, which debuts Tuesday, April 1 — were seen strolling through Manhattan’s Upper West Side neighborhood before heading down to the subway.
After sharing a kiss on the platform, Ford and Flockhart, 60, boarded their trains, where the Oscar-nominated actor took a seat next to a woman in pink and they engaged in conversation.

The appearance marks the first sighting of Ford since the Shrinking actor bowed out of hosting the 97th Academy Awards due to illness.
A rep for the actor confirmed March 1 that Ford had been diagnosed with shingles one day earlier. He canceled his planned appearance at the ceremony that morning.
The Indiana Jones star most recently appeared at the 2025 SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 23, without wife Flockhart, who was busy starring in the N.Y.C. production of Curse of the Starving Class by the late Sam Shepard.
But that didn’t mean Ford was alone for his big night. The actor, who portrays Dr. Paul Rhoades in AppleTV+’s Shrinking, was joined by his cast mates at the event, including Jason Segel.

Ford and Flockhart married in 2010, eight years after he and the Ally McBeal alum met at the 59th Golden Globe Awards in 2002. They share one child: 24-year-old son Liam, whom Flockhart adopted in 2001. (Ford is also dad to sons Benjamin, Willard and Malcolm, plus daughter Georgia.)
Speaking with The New York Times in January 2024, Flockhart referred to herself as the “Scare Monster” at home. “Because I hide behind every corner,” the actress explained. “And so Harrison will walk in, and then I’ll go, ‘Raaah!’ And he’ll go, ‘W-uy-aah!’ And then I die laughing.”

“I’ll put a plastic spider inside his big ice cubes in the tray, and then he’ll drink it,” Flockhart added of her scare tactics. “But then I’ll go to bed two weeks later, and he’s out of town in Jackson, and I’ll take the covers down and there’s this little rubber scorpion. It’s fun.”
