Brooklyn Beckham publicly praises his mother-in-law Claudia Peltz just days before Mother’s Day, reportedly leaving Victoria Beckham “utterly heartbroken”

Victoria Beckham has reportedly been dealt another emotional setback just days before Mother’s Day, as her estranged son Brooklyn Beckham publicly celebrated his mother-in-law instead.

Brooklyn, 27, marked the birthday of Nicola Peltz’s mother, Claudia Heffner Peltz, joining his wife and her family for a joyful celebration — a moment that many observers say highlights the continuing distance between him and his own famous parents.

New photos shared by Nicola, 31, showed the couple smiling alongside Claudia as they gathered to mark the special occasion. The heartfelt post included a touching message from Nicola to her mother.

She wrote that simply being able to call her “mom” makes her feel incredibly lucky, adding that she was so happy to spend the special day together. Nicola also praised her mother’s warmth and spirit, saying her light is so bright that she makes everything better in the world. She finished the tribute by telling her she loves her more than she could ever understand and hopes all her dreams come true.

While the celebration appeared full of warmth and affection, it comes at a sensitive time for the Beckham family.

Brooklyn has grown increasingly close to Nicola’s family in recent years and even spent last Christmas with them, celebrating alongside her brother Bradley and other relatives.

Meanwhile, tensions with his own family continue to simmer.

Reports claim Brooklyn felt “disheartened” earlier this month when his parents publicly wished him a happy birthday on social media — despite what insiders say was an agreement that communication should remain private.

Victoria, 51, David, 50, and Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, all posted emotional tributes marking his 27th birthday. But according to sources, those messages were not received in the spirit they were intended.

An insider explained that Brooklyn and Nicola felt disappointed the birthday wishes were shared publicly, saying they viewed such gestures as the type of performative action Brooklyn has been trying to move away from.

The source added that last summer the couple even sent a legal letter asking that any communication with his parents go through lawyers.

On his birthday, Brooklyn spent the day with Nicola, who posted a playful video of him blowing out candles on a box of doughnuts. He later thanked his wife on Instagram for her affectionate message but made no mention of the tributes from his family.

Observers noted that while he ignored nostalgic throwback photos, heartfelt birthday wishes and even the repeated use of his childhood nickname “Buster,” he responded almost immediately to Nicola’s post.

Despite the ongoing rift, there are signs that some family ties remain intact.

Recent reports suggest Brooklyn is still in contact with his grandfather Ted Beckham and Ted’s wife Hilary, speaking with them regularly even as relations with his parents remain strained.

Now living in the United States with Nicola, Brooklyn previously addressed the feud directly in a lengthy six-page statement shared on Instagram earlier this year.

In that message, he accused his parents of trying to undermine his marriage and claimed they had long prioritised their public image over authentic family relationships.

He wrote that throughout his life his parents had shaped the narrative about their family in the press, describing performative social media posts, public family events and inauthentic relationships as something he had grown up around.

Brooklyn added that he had personally seen how far they would go to place what he described as countless lies in the media in order to preserve a certain public façade. However, he concluded by saying that he believes the truth eventually comes out.
