Freddy Brazier Becomes a Dad! Freddy Reveals the Meaningful Name of His Baby Girl in Tribute to His Late Mother Jade Goody
Freddy Brazier has shared the touching name of his unborn daughter, revealing a heartfelt tribute to his late mother Jade Goody as he prepares to become a dad for the first time.
The 21-year-old, who is expecting a baby girl with girlfriend Holly Swinburn, 22, later this month, admitted that Mother’s Day has always been the hardest time of the year for him since Jade died from cervical cancer in 2009 at just 27 years old. Freddy was only four at the time, while his brother Bobby was five.
Now, however, the reality star says the arrival of his daughter is giving him the chance to create new memories during a day that once brought only pain.

Speaking in an interview, Freddy explained that Mother’s Day has always been emotionally difficult because it makes him think about the things he would have done with his mum if she were still alive. He said he often saw other people celebrating with their mothers and thought how lucky they were, admitting he wished he could have had a special day with Jade too.
But with his daughter on the way, Freddy believes things will feel different. He said that now he will be able to make new memories with his own baby girl.
The couple have chosen the name Isla Jade for their daughter, a name that carries a deeply personal tribute to his late mother.
Freddy revealed that including Jade as the baby’s middle name felt like the perfect way to honour her memory. He explained that he believes part of his mother will always live on in Isla through her name.
At the same time, he admitted he avoided using Jade as the baby’s first name because he didn’t want to place too much expectation on his daughter.

“I think it’s lovely to incorporate the name Jade into her name as a middle name,” Freddy said, adding that he feels there will always be a part of his mum in Isla. But he also said calling the baby Jade outright felt like too much pressure for a child who should simply be allowed to be herself.
In a bold and emotional gesture, Freddy has already had his daughter’s name tattooed on the back of his neck weeks before she is even born.
Laughing about the decision, he admitted he can be impulsive and that the tattoo hurt more than expected — especially considering his daughter has not yet arrived.
Still, the tribute means a lot to him, and Holly reportedly loves the tattoo so much she is considering getting a matching one herself.
As the baby’s due date approaches, Freddy has also found himself visiting his mother’s grave in Essex more often.
He said he recently stopped by to talk to Jade about the upcoming arrival, explaining that he sometimes struggles with the feeling of speaking to a headstone but still finds comfort in those visits.

Freddy said he told his mum about the baby and how he was feeling, joking that sometimes he catches himself laughing while talking to her and wonders if people might think he looks a bit mad. Despite that, he said visiting her grave and speaking to her helps him cope.
Freddy also shared that his relationship with his father, TV presenter Jeff Brazier, is now in a very good place after past tensions.
Jeff, who raised Freddy and Bobby largely on his own after Jade’s death, is said to be thrilled about becoming a grandfather. According to Freddy, his dad is already imagining taking the baby on countryside walks and has even prepared a bedroom for her in his home.
Freddy joked that his daughter will feel like a princess in a castle when she stays with Jeff, adding that the baby already has more clothes than he does.
Reflecting on his father’s role, Freddy said Jeff had been incredible in raising him and Bobby after their mum died. He admitted it must not have been easy bringing up two boys alone but said he is grateful for everything his dad did.
The family dynamic has also become closer recently, with Freddy revealing that his brother Bobby — now a successful actor and former Strictly star — has moved back into Jeff’s home.
Freddy said it feels good that the three of them are together again and added he is excited for Bobby to become an uncle.
His relationship with Holly has also been through ups and downs. The pair split last year after she discovered he had been partying in her flat while she was away with family, but they have since reconciled and are preparing to welcome their daughter together.
Freddy believes becoming a father will help him mature and take more responsibility.
He admitted he feels both excited and nervous about the arrival of his baby girl, explaining that many young fathers worry about whether they will be good enough.
Still, he said he feels he is in a good place now and is determined to do his best as a dad.
Freddy joked that while he has never changed a nappy before, he has at least cleaned up after his dog — even if it sometimes makes him feel a little queasy.
Preparing for the birth, he has even packed his own hospital bag alongside Holly’s. Inside are pyjamas, a pillow, a blanket, and extra items in case Holly needs anything.
Among the items ready for their daughter is a tiny leopard-print coat, which Freddy packed just in case the weather is cold when she leaves hospital.
In recent months, Freddy has also made changes to his lifestyle as he prepares for fatherhood. He admitted he previously smoked cannabis but says he has now given it up completely so he can focus on being healthy for the baby.
He explained that while there are moments when he thinks smoking might help him sleep or quiet his racing thoughts, he has resisted the temptation.
Instead, he believes having a routine once the baby arrives will help him stay focused.
Freddy has also unexpectedly taken a break from the digital world after breaking his phone several months ago and never replacing it.
Rather than rushing to fix it, he said the absence of constant scrolling has actually helped him sit with his thoughts and process his emotions more clearly.
The reality star admitted he has been feeling especially emotional recently, even revealing that he burst into tears watching a young magician perform on Britain’s Got Talent.
Laughing at himself, Freddy said he feels like he is turning into a “big softie” just in time for becoming a dad.
