Viewers of ITV’s This Morning wasted no time voicing their frustration on Friday after host Alison Hammond sparked a wave of complaints just moments after the show began.
Alison, 51, appeared alongside her regular co-host Dermot O’Leary for their weekly Friday slot on the daytime programme on March 13, teasing what audiences could expect from the latest episode.
But within seconds of Alison launching into the show’s introduction, viewers flocked to social media to complain about what they described as her “shouting” throughout the broadcast.

One irritated viewer wrote online, “FFS why is Alison Hammond f**king shouting,” while another added, “Oh God… it’s Friday and these two again! After GMB this is too much NOISE!”
A third viewer bluntly commented, “STFU already!” while another joked about the volume, writing: “Wondered why my house was shaking even though I’m 300 miles away.”
Others took aim at what they felt was a recurring habit in Alison’s presenting style. One viewer complained that she often asks guests questions but then interrupts them before they can finish speaking, writing that it was “infuriating” to watch. Another simply urged the host to “stop the cackling”.
The backlash came as This Morning was already under scrutiny from viewers earlier in the week following an awkward segment involving presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.
During the show, social media personality MC Grammar – whose real name is Jacob Mitchell – joined the programme to celebrate World Book Day and promote his mission to encourage children to read through rap music.

MC Grammar recently broke a Guinness World Record after leading 859 schoolchildren in a 30-minute lesson filled with rapping and rhyming designed to inspire a love of reading.
He shot to fame in 2019 when a video of him rapping the beloved children’s book The Gruffalo to his daughter went viral online, earning millions of views and even praise from hip-hop superstar Snoop Dogg.
During his appearance on This Morning, MC Grammar invited Cat Deeley, 49, and Ben Shephard, 51, to join him in performing a rap version of the classic children’s book Each Peach Pear Plum by Janet and Allan Ahlberg.
The pair were handed sunglasses and given a playful “rap makeover” before joining in the performance.
As the music played, Cat enthusiastically waved her hands in the air before standing up from the sofa and appearing to twerk in Ben’s direction, leaving him laughing on air.
However, many viewers watching at home were far from impressed with the segment.
One person reacted online, writing, “What fresh hell is this?!” while another added, “Oh no, this is awful.”
A third viewer sarcastically commented that new audiences should not be confused by what they were seeing, saying the chaotic moment was “perfectly normal for this show”.
Another simply wrote that they had “died from cringe”, while someone else pleaded online: “Please Cat, no.”
The criticism didn’t stop there, with another viewer declaring: “OMG, that was horrendous. Can this show get any worse?”
The reaction followed a separate moment earlier this week that also caused a stir among viewers.
Cat Deeley had sparked debate after making what some fans described as a “creepy” compliment about her co-star Tom Swarbrick during a discussion about Harry Styles’ outfit at the BRIT Awards.
After Tom returned to the studio wearing a pair of tight-fitting trousers, a shirt and a bright pink tie to mimic the singer’s look, Cat commented that the outfit made him resemble a sixth-former – before adding that it was “strangely attractive in a weird way”.
The remark quickly prompted criticism online, with one viewer warning that the comment might “haunt” her.
Another pointed out that if a male presenter had made a similar remark about someone who looked like a school student, there would have been outrage.
The controversy came shortly after Cat returned to the show following a mysterious absence the previous week, when guest presenters including Angela Scanlon and Alison Hammond stepped in to cover for her.
Shortly after returning to the programme, Cat confessed to an off-camera mishap before the show went live, revealing that she had accidentally sat on an iPad while putting on her shoe.
Explaining the moment, she joked that she feared she might fall over, so she quickly sat down — only to hear the device crack beneath her.
Laughing about the incident, Cat admitted she had already “blown the budget” for the show after damaging the device.
