Ben Shephard, This Morning host and football fanatic, has celebrated his 22nd wedding anniversary with his wife, Annie, sharing an adorable throwback photo that captured the love between the couple. The sweet snap, posted on Instagram, shows the pair smiling lovingly outdoors, reflecting on over two decades of love and commitment.
In his heartfelt caption, Ben, 51, recalled the moment Annie said “oh go on then” 22 years ago, marking the start of their incredible journey together. “It took me nine years to realise it and ask her to marry me,” he wrote, adding, “But she’s still the best thing to happen to me, closely followed by Mark Noble (obviously) [heart emoji]” – a nod to his beloved West Ham captain.
Ben’s co-stars couldn’t resist chiming in with their love, including This Morning favorite Cat Deeley, who posted, “The Marvelous Mrs Sheps” along with two heart emojis. Their love story began long before Ben became a TV household name, when they were students at the University of Birmingham. After dating for nine years, Ben proposed to Annie in a romantic, rainy moment at the Jardin du Palais Royal in Paris, just one year before their wedding in 2004.
Now parents to two grown sons, Sam (21) and Jack (19), Ben reflected on his fatherhood journey, sharing emotional thoughts about how quickly his children have grown up, particularly Jack, who he says has blossomed before his eyes.
