Britain’s Got Talent delivered one of its most explosive episodes yet on Saturday night, as Simon Cowell smashed the Golden Buzzer for singer Matty Juniosa after a show-stopping performance that brought the entire room to its feet.
The talented vocalist left the judges and audience stunned with a powerful rendition of Prince’s Purple Rain, turning the studio electric within moments of stepping onto the stage. As the final notes rang out, the crowd erupted into a standing ovation, with the scale of the reaction clearly overwhelming everyone in the room.

Amanda Holden was quick to praise the performance, telling Matty: “I thought that was a fantastic performance and I can see how much you want it.” Simon then added his own colourful verdict, joking: “You are the kind of artist where you put eight spoonfuls of sugar in your tea, you put about ten thousand in.”
As the cheers continued, Simon admitted the response had been impossible to ignore. “This is the biggest reaction I think we have had from anyone,” he said, before making his final decision with a grin: “So… why the hell not!” He then hit the Golden Buzzer, sending Matty straight through to the final.

The emotional moment proved too much for the singer, who dropped to his knees as golden confetti rained down around him before breaking into tears over the life-changing moment.
But Matty was not the only act to leave viewers reeling. Just moments earlier, Ant and Dec had already used their Golden Buzzer for autistic comedian Ted Hill, making it a night packed with unforgettable scenes and back-to-back emotional highs.
Ted, 31, introduced himself by saying he wanted to combine his “analytical weird brain” with his love of stand-up comedy. He then addressed his autism openly, telling the audience: “First I’m going to address the elephant in the room, I am a very autistic man…” From there, he launched into a brilliantly offbeat routine about the phonetic alphabet that had both Amanda and KSI in fits of laughter.

KSI praised him by saying: “You are so funny you were just on a role,” while Amanda admitted she had been completely caught off guard, saying: “It has blown my mind, it was completely unexpected… so intelligent.”
Before the judges could even say much more, Ant and Dec stepped in and reached across to hit the buzzer themselves, sealing Ted’s place in the final and sparking emotional scenes in the audience. Clearly overwhelmed, Ted reacted by saying: “Thank you so much! That was amazing, it doesn’t feel real. This is life changing for me.”
The double Golden Buzzer moment made the episode one of the most dramatic of the series so far, with both Matty and Ted now joining a growing list of standout acts heading straight for the final. Among them are Jeremy Clarkson’s farming choir, which earned Amanda’s buzzer last week, and Antigravity, the act that wowed viewers by creating a video game live on stage.
Earlier in the series, Simon had already used his first Golden Buzzer on athlete Paul Nunnari for his wheelchair stunt performance, while KSI sent 16-year-old magician Rafferty Coope through with his own pick.
With two more unforgettable acts now added to the final lineup, Britain’s Got Talent is already shaping up to be one of the most fiercely contested seasons in years.
