Amy Childs Gets Real About Her Weight Loss Struggles: “I Was So Ill, It Scared Me”

Amy Childs, the reality TV star known for her appearance on The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), has bravely come clean about her weight loss journey, revealing the terrifying consequences of using weight loss jabs.

In an emotional interview on the No Parental Guidance podcast, the 35-year-old opened up about the shocking impact the jabs had on her body, admitting, “I was so ill, I actually scared myself.”

The mum-of-three confessed that her weight dropped to just seven stone after taking the jabs, leaving her bedridden for days. “I was being sick, feeling nauseous – I honestly thought I was pregnant. After two weeks, I realised this wasn’t worth it, and I never took them again,” Amy shared, recalling how the drastic measure to shed “baby weight” turned into a nightmare.

The side effects were so severe that she found herself physically incapacitated. “I was in bed for three days,” Amy said. “I thought, ‘I’ve got the kids to look after, they need their mummy.’”Amy Childs on the red carpetAmy has been taking the weight loss jabs (Credit: Cover Images)

Despite the horror, Amy acknowledged that the jabs do work for some people, sharing, “My mum’s friends, my friends – they’re doing amazing on it. But for me, it didn’t work.”

The star also addressed the relentless public scrutiny surrounding her weight, confessing that she still faces daily abuse. “You look terrible at your wedding,” critics would say. “You looked so skinny.” Amy revealed that at one point, her weight dropped to just 6 stone 13 – the lowest she had ever been, triggered by her mum’s sudden illness.Amy Childs on the red carpetAmy opened up about the abuse she gets about her weight (Credit: Cover Images)

After battling anxiety and pushing through a rough period, Amy is now focusing on her  health. “I’m better now. I train three times a week, and I play padel,” she said with a smile, showing her strength and determination to take control of her wellness.

Amy’s raw honesty and courage in sharing her journey are bound to inspire those struggling with similar challenges.
