Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) was back on top form in tonight’s episode of Coronation Street after suffering a setback earlier this week, and it’s Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) who has fallen victim to her dark side.
After tricking Daniel into telling his family he was back from his ‘trip’, Jodie was left on the back foot when he asked her to move out so that he and Bertie could get back to normal.
However, in the following days, Daniel has been facing online abuse from anonymous accounts that have seriously impacted his well-being.
Though at first he thought ex-girlfriend and predator Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) was behind the trolling after learning she’d been released on bail, tonight he informed Jodie that he didn’t think Megan would risk putting herself back in the spotlight.
He also pointed out how personal some of the posts were, which made him think that it could be someone closer to home.
Jodie was quick to offer up another suspect, by telling Daniel that David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) kept looking over at them.
When Jodie excused herself from the table, Daniel overheard David and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) laughing at something on David’s phone, just as another post hit his feed.
After seeing that it was about him and Max Turner, he automatically assumed that David was responsible and wasted no time in accusing him, though David proved his innocence, leaving Daniel feeling embarrassed.
Later, Daniel opened up to Jodie about how the posts were getting him down and she encouraged him to stop trying to find out who was behind the anonymous account for his own sake.
She then made a bold move by offering to put her flat hunting on hold so that she could stay and help Daniel with Bertie while he was dealing with this stress.
When Daniel agreed, it was clear that Jodie had regained the upper hand and that this had been her plan all along, as it transpired that she had been the one posting the online abuse.
Will she be able to keep her scheming from Daniel, or is everything set to blow up as he gets to the truth?
