Jeremy Clarkson Opens Up on Health Scare and Farming Life: ‘I Look Like a Lowry Painting!’

Jeremy Clarkson, 66, has finally shared an update on his health following the latest trailer for Clarkson’s Farm, revealing the dramatic year he endured after a terrifying scare. In 2024, the former Top Gear star famously claimed he was “days from death” after experiencing intense chest pains at his Cotswolds home.

Speaking to Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden on Heart Breakfast, Clarkson joked about his recent ‘fat jabs’: “Yes, it’s fat jabs. I look like a Lowry painting,” but reassured fans he is now “absolutely fine… tickety-boo!”

Reflecting on his farming journey, Clarkson admitted he once imagined the life would involve “driving around in a Range Rover, going to the pub, and skiing.” Reality, however, proved far tougher. “It is unbelievably difficult… you’re on your own all day from six in the morning until midnight. There’s no money coming in, and you worry constantly. It’s not like working in an office or shop. The real farmers face that pressure every day.”

Despite the challenges, Clarkson found solace in the camaraderie of The Hawkstone Choir, formed initially for a light-hearted advert campaign but blossoming into a genuine group of friends. He highlighted the current struggles of the farming industry but praised the resilience of those involved.

Excitingly, Amazon Prime has confirmed that the fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm will premiere on June 3, with episodes one to four available immediately. Episodes five and six will follow on June 10, and the final two on June 17. Clarkson teased that this series is “the most dramatic yet,” but kept the specifics under wraps.

His brush with mortality, including a rushed visit to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and a stent insertion after a completely blocked artery was discovered, has clearly reshaped his perspective. Yet, fans can rest easy: Clarkson is back, in good spirits, and ready to tackle both farming and fun on screen once again.
