Michael Le Vell Breaks Into Song For His Bride As Coronation Street Favourite Finally Marries Longtime Love Louise After 12-Year Journey Together

Coronation Street legend Michael Le Vell celebrated his wedding day in unforgettable fashion by serenading his new wife Louise Gibbons as the couple finally tied the knot after a 12-year relationship.

The 61-year-old actor, best known for playing Kevin Webster on the ITV soap since 1983, married Louise during an intimate ceremony held at Trafford Register Office in Greater Manchester on Saturday. The low-key event was attended by fewer than 30 guests, including several familiar faces from Coronation Street.

Among those celebrating with the newlyweds were Michael’s former on-screen wife Sally Dynevor, Alan Halsall and Simon Gregson, all of whom joined family and close friends for the special occasion.

A glimpse inside the wedding reception was later shared by Alan Halsall on social media. One video captured a joyful Michael taking to the microphone and singing directly to his bride, helping kick-start the celebrations. Sharing the clip, Alan joked: “As always getting the party started.”

Michael appeared completely at ease as he performed alongside singer Cole Page, delighting guests gathered for the reception.

For the big day, the groom looked smart in a neutral-toned three-piece suit paired with a crisp white shirt, silk tie and matching pocket square. Louise looked radiant in a stunning white wedding gown featuring a fitted bodice, plunging neckline and distinctive textured sleeves.

After exchanging vows, the happy couple emerged to a shower of confetti and warm applause from their guests. Smiling throughout, they climbed into a Mercedes decorated with white ribbons before heading to Ashton on Mersey Golf Club, where family and friends gathered for the wedding reception.

According to a source, the celebrations were kept relatively low-key and intimate, reflecting the couple’s desire for a private occasion surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

The wedding marks the latest chapter in a relationship that has endured both happy moments and difficult challenges. Michael and Louise first met in 2014 through Louise’s sister and quickly became inseparable.

Although the pair briefly separated in 2018 following reported tensions in their relationship, they eventually reconciled and rebuilt their bond.

Ahead of the wedding, a source described the occasion as “a long time coming” and said: “Michael adores Louise, she has truly been his rock and he can’t wait to make it official.”

Louise has stood by Michael through some of the most difficult periods of his life, including his struggles with addiction and the personal turmoil that followed his highly publicised legal battle. In 2013, Michael was cleared of all 12 child sex offence charges after a jury found him not guilty. The lengthy legal fight reportedly cost him around £200,000 and contributed to financial difficulties that later resulted in bankruptcy.

Despite the setbacks, the couple remained committed to one another and ultimately found their way back together.

Saturday’s wedding was therefore not just a celebration of marriage, but also a reflection of resilience, loyalty and a love story that survived years of challenges before finally reaching its happy ending.
