âitâs appalling, sheâs completely out of her depth!â â Sh0cK: Alison Hammond blasted for ANOTHER blunder discussing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsorâs arrest on This Morning â with livid viewers fuming
Alison Hammond has been blasted for yet ANOTHER blunder on This Morning while discussing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsorâs arrest.
The TV personality, 51, was once again addressing the developing news surrounding the disgraced royalâs arrest on Thursday under suspicion of misconduct in public office. Prior to this, Andrew was accused of having sex with the late Virginia Giuffre when she was underage.
Virginia claimed she was trafficked to the prince by the convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew denies having ever met her, despite paying her millions in an out-of-court settlement.
When the subject came up on the show, despite its notoriety, Alison mispronounced Virginiaâs surname, calling her Virginia âGuffâ and not Virginia Giuffre.
She said: âShould we talk about some of the victims? The relatives of the late Virginia Guff, who claimed she was trafficked to prison to have sex with Andrew, have shared their reaction to his arrest.â
This went far from unnoticed by This Morning viewers, who were still reeling from the hostâs bizarre decision to question why Andrew was arrested on his birthday yesterday.

The TV personality, 51, was once again addressing the ongoing situation surrounding the disgraced royalâs arrest on Thursday under suspicion of misconduct in public office when she mispronounced the name of his accuser Virginia Giuffre
This Morning viewers blasted: âVirginia Guff?? #ThisMorningâ;
âWhy doesnât Alison research correct pronunciation of peopleâs namesâŠ? honestly, how did she get through the first interview stage #ThisMorningâ;
âAlison calling Virginia Giuffre Virginia Guff. Honestly appalling presenter #ThisMorningâ;
âJust when you think Alisonâs presenting skills couldnât get any worse, they do. #thismorningâ;
âI like Alison but when it comes to serious topics sheâs completely out of her depth #thismorning.â;
â#ThisMorning delivering a grovelling âserious debateâ after Alisonâs âWhy would you arrest someone on their birthday?â cock up yesterday.â
After Alisonâs blunder, she quickly corrected herself on the programme, telling viewers: âSorry, it is Virginia Giuffre, I do apologise.â
Following Andrewâs arrest on Thursday he was released without charge, but the investigation into his behaviour continues.
It is claimed that he passed on confidential information to Epstein in his position as UK trade envoy â a crime that carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

Alison was subject to similar online criticism on Thursday after she questioned why the police chose to arrest the former prince on his birthday specifically.
Talking about the breaking news story at the start of the show, Alison, 51, was quick to offer up her opinion on the arrest.
She told her co-stars: âThey couldâve done it yesterday, the day before his birthday.â
Viewers of the ITV series immediately flooded social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to hit back against Alisonâs comment, calling it âweirdâ.
One penned: âAlison saying âsurely they didnât have to arrest him on his birthdayâ. What a weird comment about an âallegedâ predator.â
Another chimed in: âImagine if Alison was a police officer. Her boss: âWeâre arresting Prince Andrew in the morningâ Alison: âWe canât be doing that bab, itâs his birthday tomorrow, heâs probably made plansâ.â
A third hit out at Alison, calling her a âmoronâ for making the suggestion that the police had âspoiled his birthdayâ, writing: âShouldnât spoil his birthday. F**king moron.â
âAlison saying they shouldnât arrest him on his birthday?â a fourth added, while a fifth wrote: âAlison so far out of her depth here. Dreadful.â
âAlison says the stupid part out loud again,â someone else concluded.

Speaking on todayâs This Morning, Ashley James became visibly emotional while discussing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsorâs arrest

Ashley appeared on the ITV alongside Gyles Brandreth, Lorraine Royal Editor Russell Myers as well as presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot OâLeary
The presenterâs latest controversial comment on Friday came during a powerful discussion where Ashley James broke down in tears on This Morning while discussing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsorâs arrest.
Ashley was among a panel of guests discussing the former royal having been arrested yesterday.
Speaking on This Morning about Andrewâs arrest and having watched a short clip of Virginia Giuffreâs family, she said, dabbing tears from her eyes: âI felt very emotional watching this actually. Thereâs a reason I feel so upset about it.
âSo many of us have watched the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein try to get justice and I felt a huge sense of relief yesterday watching Andrew be arrested.
âOf course, his arrest is about state matters and not about the alleged sexual abuse of Virginia Giuffre, who of course is no longer here.
âI think the fact that it took so long and she is no longer here for justice to be served.â
