The Good Morning Britain presenter, 59, went public with her romance with Liam Halligan, 57, last week

“It is lovely. We basically haven’t really had time for a proper date! I don’t want to jinx it,” Kate said, laughing, reflecting on the early stages of their relationship.

The couple, who were first spotted together in Liam’s hometown of Saffron Walden, have grown close in recent weeks after forming a deep friendship. Liam admitted they became “good friends” following a period of being single, and the connection naturally evolved.

The pair have been seen enjoying casual nights out and supporting charity events together, including the Duchenne Dash cycle ride to Paris, where Kate cheered Liam on. A source told the Mail on Sunday:

“It’s all very exciting and Kate is giddy. She will never stop loving Derek and is still grieving, but she is finding a way to be happy. It’s lovely for her friends and family to see.”

Kate has candidly discussed how her attention has been divided between new romance and caring for her parents, but she appears optimistic about this next chapter in her life. Friends describe the relationship as gentle, supportive, and bringing her renewed joy after years of personal hardship.

From personal grief to cautious happiness, Kate Garraway’s story is one of resilience, love, and finding moments of light even during life’s challenges.
