Robot or Reality? Katie Price Faces Backlash Over ‘Robot Voice’ in New Single as Fans Claim They “Can’t Understand a Word”

Katie Price’s long-awaited return to music has hit a sour note after fans slammed her new single Best Of Me for what they describe as an “unreal amount of auto-tune”.

The 47-year-old former glamour model, who teamed up with rapper Lady Ice on the track, dropped her new single on Friday — but TikTok quickly filled with baffled comments. “Haven’t worked out what she’s actually saying in this,” one user complained, while another added: “Anyone can make a song like this with all those effects.” Others went further, calling it “AI-generated nonsense” and “a career-ending move.”

However, some supporters rushed to defend Katie’s comeback. “So catchy!” one fan posted. Another wrote: “She knows she’s not a pop star, she’s just having fun — good on her.”

Katie first teased the single in early September with studio selfies, telling followers she was “back doing what she loves.” The release marks her latest attempt to revive a pop career that began nearly two decades ago when she competed to represent the UK at Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up in 2005 — losing to Javine Hylton but earning tabloid fame for her daring pink catsuit.

She last tasted chart success in 2017 with I Got U, which unexpectedly shot to No.1 on iTunes, and later celebrated another top-ten dance hit with Hurricane in 2019.

Behind the glitz, though, Katie recently shared fears that her rare leiomyosarcoma cancer could return after finding a lump in her finger — the same spot she was first diagnosed 23 years ago while pregnant with her son Harvey. “It’s scary,” she said on The Katie Price Show. “There’s a dent where I had it cut out before, and now another lump’s come up.”

Her week has been turbulent in more ways than one. Just a day before the single’s release, two of her kittens were rushed to the vet — a painful reminder of the pet tragedies that have haunted her home.
