Rylan Clark sets record straight on Rob Rinder rumours as he confirms ‘secret’ romance

Rylan Clark has finally spoken out about his love life, confirming he is in a new relationship while firmly denying long-running rumours of romance with close friend Rob Rinder.

The BBC Radio 2 star made the admission live on air during his Rylan on Saturday show, when colleague Lottie pressed him about recent gossip. Laughing nervously, Rylan confessed: “I might have said that I’m… it feels weird saying it on the radio! I’ve kept it a secret for so long.” He went on to confirm that he is “seeing someone” and added he is “happy” and “very content.”

Lottie revealed that the Radio 2 team had already met his new partner, describing him as “lovely.” Rylan admitted it had been a joy to keep the relationship under wraps for weeks before the news slipped out.

He also addressed speculation about his bond with Rob Rinder, saying: “So many people keep asking, because of all these fake stories about me and Rob – that we’ve got married and everything. Rob’s my friend. I adore him. But I just thought, let’s put the record straight.”

The two TV favourites first teamed up for Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, a BBC Two series that saw them travel to Venice, Florence and Rome. The show was a hit, winning a BAFTA earlier this year and scooping Best Popular Factual Series at the Edinburgh TV Awards. Their latest instalment, A Passage to India, is set to launch soon.

Despite the rumours, Rylan made it clear that while his friendship with Rob remains as strong as ever, his heart belongs to someone else.
