Charity Dingle fought back against the scheming Dr Caitlin Todd on Emmerdale tonight, but the feud is far from over. Though she may have recovered some ground in the latest episode, trouble lies ahead for Charity.
Dr Todd has made Jacob Sugden’s life a living hell over recent months, having bullied him in the workplace. This progressed even further, with the villain targeting the student outside of his job.

Charity, meanwhile, has been living with a secret. She agreed to be the surrogate for Sarah and Jacob, and subsequently gave birth to Leyla. Unbeknownst to almost everybody, the baby was actually the result of a one-night stand with Ross Barton.
Ross was the only one who knew about this until Dr Todd made the discovery, and she used it to her advantage by demanding a sum of £10,000 in exchange for her silence. Charity, all of a sudden, was in a bind.
Today’s episode of the ITV soap began with her lamenting to Ryan about some financial worries, and asked if there was any spare change in the accounts for The Woolpack. He explained that there was barely anything left, but Charity had an opportunity.
The takings from the previous week were in a bag and needed to be delivered to the bank, with Ryan jokingly telling Charity to not steal any of it. Though she scoffed at his joke, she looked a little sheepish.
She soon ran into Vanessa, who kissed Dr Todd the previous night. She also agreed with Sarah to babysit Leyla for the evening, but it was clear that she was distracted by her situation with the villain.
She attempted to use several avenues to secure some funds, but it was to no avail. After reading a poem from Moses, which referred to Charity’s devotion to her family, she seemingly made up her mind.
Dr Todd arrived, and Charity handed her some money, which she said came via a loan from the bank. The amount was only half the agreed amount, with the schemer quickly losing her temper.
