Davina McCallâs Husband Reveals: âSheâs Fighting Breast Cancerâ â Less Than a Year After Her Brain Tumor Surgery
TV presenter Davina McCallâs fiancĂ©, Michael Douglas, has revealed that the beloved star is now battling breast cancer, just months after she underwent life-saving brain surgery.
Michael, who has stood by Davina through every challenge, described the past year as âthe most terrifying time of our lives.â
âWatching the person you love go through this again⊠itâs heartbreaking,â he said quietly. âThe last year has been nothing short of horrific for Davina.â

Michael shared that Davina found a small lump in her breast while filming The Masked Singer.
At first, she thought it was nothing serious, as the lump âcame and went.â But one day, during filming at ITV studios, she noticed a Change and Check poster in the restroom â part of Lorraine Kellyâs awareness campaign â and decided she couldnât ignore it any longer.
âShe looked in the mirror and told me, âIâm going to get this checked.ââ Michael recalled.
A biopsy confirmed their worst fears â it was breast cancer. Within days, Davina underwent a lumpectomy at Londonâs Royal Marsden Hospital.
Thankfully, the cancer was caught early and hadnât spread. She will now undergo five days of radiotherapy in January, which doctors describe as a âprecautionary measure.â
âSheâs the Strongest Woman I Knowâ
Michael admitted that Davina was âfuriousâ when she first got the diagnosis, but her anger quickly turned into determination.
âShe told me, âI beat a brain tumor. I can beat this too.â And I believe her â sheâs the strongest woman Iâve ever known.â
He also expressed deep gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Royal Marsden, and to Davinaâs three children â Holly (24), Tilly (22), and Chester (19) â for their love and support during the ordeal.
A Wave of Love Across Britain
After Michaelâs revelation, an outpouring of love flooded social media.
TV stars Amanda Holden, Claudia Winkleman, and Julia Bradbury â herself a breast cancer survivor â all sent heartfelt messages.
Lorraine Kelly added:
âIâm so glad Davina saw one of our âChange and Checkâ posters. It caught her cancer early â and it may have saved her life.â
A Fighter Whoâs Faced Death Before
Less than a year ago, Davina underwent a grueling six-hour brain surgery to remove a rare colloid cyst that doctors said could have been fatal if left untreated.
Michael stayed by her side through that nightmare â and now, once again, he is there, holding her hand through another battle.
âShe never gives up,â he said softly. âWeâre fighting this together â just like we always do.â
A Story of Love, Courage, and Hope
Davina McCallâs journey is not just a story of illness â itâs a story of love, resilience, and the power of early detection. Her fight is inspiring thousands of women across Britain to check themselves, trust their instincts, and never delay a doctorâs visit.
